Agents should select the most applicable option from the list below:

  • Main Residence (HO-5 Form): The Named Insured lives in the home for most of the year. A home-sharing endorsement is available for eligible short-term rental activities.
  • Secondary / Seasonal (HO-5 Form): The Named Insured occupies the home for short periods (Secondary) or occupies the home during particular times throughout the year (Seasonal). A home-sharing endorsement is available for eligible short-term rental activities.
  • Rent-to-Others (HO-3 Form): The Named Insured doesn’t live in the home. The home is rented on a full-time basis.

Openly’s Home-sharing Endorsement provides certain coverages for Airbnb / VRBO-type activities at the dwelling for a portion of the year (subject to state-specific guidelines). Select this option on the Coverage Tab when quoting. Learn more about home-sharing for HO-5 here and for HO-3 here.

Openly does not have an appetite for the following occupancy types:

  • Vacant: A dwelling no one lives in and is substantially unfurnished
  • Homes under the course of new construction:  A vacant dwelling undergoing construction of entirely new structures and / or significant extensions to existing structures, whether or not the site was previously occupied

Openly offers an Under Construction Endorsement for unoccupied dwellings undergoing renovation / remodeling for less than 180 days.
