Mine Subsidence

Mine Subsidence provides coverage for the main dwelling or other permanent structures on the residence premises up to the special limit indicated on the Declarations page when the loss occurs due to ground movement caused by man-made underground mines. It can be selected under the Coverage tab within the portal in applicable states.

Available States

Availability varies significantly by state and county. If the option is not visible in the portal, it is unavailable for that specific property. It is currently available in certain counties within:

  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania

Exclusions

While full exclusionary details can be found in the specific policy forms, this endorsement generally does not apply to:

  • Ground movement caused by natural phenomena (such as earthquakes or natural sinkholes) or anything other than man-made underground mines.
  • Properties located in unsupported states or counties where the option is unavailable in the portal.
