Standard Peril Deductibles

A Standard Peril Deductible is the amount a homeowner must pay out of pocket before their home insurance coverage kicks in. This deductible is typically either paid directly to the contractor handling repairs or subtracted from the final claims settlement when a covered loss is paid.


Managing Deductibles in the Portal

You can view and select deductible amounts directly within the agent portal.

  1. Navigate to the Coverage tab.
  2. Select your desired deductible amount from the available options.

 

State-Specific Guidelines & Restrictions

Some states have specific limits or mandatory minimums for Standard Peril Deductibles based on the home's Replacement Cost Estimate (RCE).
 

Virginia

  • The Standard Perils deductible cannot exceed 10% of the home's RCE.

Mandatory Minimum Deductibles

The states listed below enforce the following minimum deductibles:

Less than $1M $2,500
$1M or over $5,000


States: Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania (MST Policies), Tennessee, Utah, and Wisconsin
