Quote and Policy Statuses

The left-side dashboard panel displays eligible quotes, upcoming renewals, and non-renewals. Selecting View opens detailed status information and context for each quote or policy.

Quote Status Definitions

Once all required fields are completed and a quote is created, the current quote or policy status displays on the right side of the screen inside a quote.

Status Description & Recommended Action
Eligible The quote meets current underwriting criteria to purchase coverage.
Needs Info One or more data fields require review. Confirm details with the applicant and update the fields to generate a rate.
Data Unavailable Critical information was not returned from third-party data vendors. Use another named insured at the residence (partner / spouse)
Error  A technical system error occurred and a rate cannot be calculated. Re-submit the request or check system status.
Does Not Qualify The risk profile falls outside current underwriting parameters based on an aggregate evaluation of property and applicant data.

Does Not Qualify (DNQ) Status

Openly determines initial eligibility using basic applicant details (Name, Date of Birth, Address) combined with third-party reports and state-specific regulatory guidelines accessed during the Interview stage. System eligibility is calculated using data points and third-party risk models, including:

  • Property & Location: Home age, replacement cost estimates, Public Protection Classification (fire response readiness), and localized environmental risks (such as third-party wildfire assessment models).
  • Applicant Profile: Loss history (claims databases) and insurance score (credit-based scoring where permitted).

A quote status may update to "Does Not Qualify" due to:

  • Quote Expiration: Rates or underwriting guidelines updated before binding.
  • Information Updates: Re-quoting or editing information on the Property or Interview tab triggered new risk parameters.

A DNQ status is automatically generated based on core underwriting criteria and typically cannot be manually overridden.

Delaware & Virginia Applicants

Applicants residing in DE or VA may request additional details regarding specific non-qualification reasons, access their underlying data, or submit requests for information correction, amendment, or deletion. Submissions can be made through our webform.

Policy Statuses

Policy statuses indicate the current standing of an insurance policy throughout its lifecycle.

Status Description
Issued Displayed after selecting Request Bind on the Payment and Bind tab, confirming the policy is active.
Pending Non-Renewal / Non-Renewed Indicates a policy will not renew upon expiration (e.g., due to home inspection findings or shifting risk parameters). Written notices are sent via USPS at least 60 days prior to expiration, per state guidelines. The status updates to Non-Renewed once the term ends.
Pending Non-Pay Cancellation Applies one day after a missed payment due date. Premium-bearing endorsements that increase the total premium are restricted until the outstanding balance is resolved.
Cancellation The policy terminated before its scheduled expiration date. Specific cancellation reasons display within the status panel.
