Currently, Openly does not have specific policy language for solar panels. Also, this information will not appear on the Application or the Declarations page.
Additionally, freestanding solar panels would be settled on an Actual Cash Value (ACV) basis.
The question about solar panels is on the Property Review tab in the portal. It's a yes / no question.
If solar panels are not connected to the main dwelling, agents should ensure they are covered under the Coverage B or Coverage C limit on the Coverage tab.
Solar panels would be covered under the following:
Main Dwelling (Coverage A): If attached to the home
Other Structures (Coverage B): If attached to a detached structure or freestanding and connected to a permanent foundation
Personal Property (Coverage C): If mobile and not anchored to the ground
