Adding a Carrier or Carrier Credentials in PL Rating™ from Vertafore® (Demo)

Overview

Review adding a carrier to your Vertafore® PL Rating™ account and configuring carrier credentials (real-time passwords) for both Classic and VSSO users.

Note for Openly Users: When setting up Openly as a carrier, ensure you select Home as the Line of Business (LOB).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Add or Remove a Carrier (Admins Only)

1. Log on to PL Rating™ as the Agency Administrator user.

2. From the top menu, hover over Admin and select Manage Agency Information. The Agency Information page will appear

3. Click the Carriers tab.

4. Select the specific carriers/markets you want to add or remove for that designated state and line of business. Select Home for Openly.

5. Verify the changes are correct in the summary and click Finish.

Manage Real-Time Passwords (Classic)

For Classic PL Rating™ users, real-time passwords and credentials are saved locally to your specific computer. Because credentials are stored on the local workstation, you must repeat these steps on any additional devices you use (e.g., laptops, home computers, secondary workstations).

Entering Real-Time Passwords:

1. From the Admin menu, click Manage Real-Time Passwords.

2. Select the appropriate carrier from the Insurance Carrier Site drop-down list.

3. Enter your login credentials and required information.

4. Click Save.

5. Repeat steps 2–4 for any additional carriers.

Manage Real-Time Passwords (VSSO)

For VSSO (Vertafore Single Sign-On) users, carrier credentials are securely stored in the cloud via the Credential Manager. This allows you to enter your credentials once and access them from any workstation.

Depending on your agency's setup, your VSSO Administrator may need to enter these credentials on your behalf or grant you explicit permission to update them.
