This guide walks you through adding Openly to your Applied Epic® rater. Before you begin, open two browser windows: one for the Applied Epic rater setup and one for the Openly Portal.
Availability and Requirements
Note: Do not use Internet Explorer. The Openly Agent Portal does not support it. We recommend using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari.
Supported States
Applied Epic Rater is not available for setup in all locations. It is currently supported in the following states:
| Status | States |
|---|---|
| Available | AL, AZ, CT, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, ME, MS, MO, NH, NM, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, UT, WI |
Step-by-Step Setup Instructions
Part One: Configure Openly in Applied Epic
-
Log in to the Applied Epic® website and click the Configure button on the left-hand sidebar.
-
Click Quotes, then select Quotes Setup Personal.
-
Click the Carriers tab near the top of the page.
-
Under Available Carrier Websites, search for Openly. If Openly is not added, click the Add button.
-
Click the black arrow to the left of Openly's name to point it downward. Confirm that the web address appears as: https://portal.openly.com/agents/sign-in.
-
Click the Credentials tab. Agency or User Credentials will be empty if you have not previously configured this rater.
-
Click the Plus (+) button under Select a Carrier Website and select the User Type.
-
Enter the email address you use to log in to the Openly Portal.
-
Click the Plus (+) button under Agent/Producer Codes to prepare for the Access Key. Keep this window open.
Part Two: Generate Your Access Key in Openly
- Switch to your Openly Portal browser window.
-
Click the Settings button (found by clicking on your profile picture in the upper-right corner of the portal).
-
Select the Raters & IVANS tab.
-
Locate the EZLynx section and click Generate Key. Applied Epic uses EZLynx® Access Keys for this integration.
Note: Do not close the pop-up box until you have copied the Access Key. If you accidentally close it, you must click the Delete Key and generate a new one. Each agent must have their own unique key associated with their Openly credentials -
Copy the generated key, switch back to the Applied Epic browser window.
-
Paste the key into the Value entry box under the Openly Access Key section.
You are now ready to begin quoting with Openly!
Additional support
Because this integration involves third-party software, the Openly Customer Experience Team has limited visibility. If the steps above do not resolve your issue, please contact your Agency Admin or Applied Epic Support.
