Updating Roof Age or Material

To update the roof age or material on a policy, submit proof of replacement for underwriting review using our webform. Policy updates require verification that at least 51% of the roof has been replaced and that all work has been paid in full.
 

Verification Requirements

All submitted documentation should clearly outline:

  • Scope: Proof that at least 51% of the roof surface was replaced.
  • Payment Status: Clear confirmation that work is complete and paid in full.
  • Work Details: Description of work performed and the exact completion date.
  • Contractor Info: Roofing company name, contact information, and license number.
  • Photos: Recent, clear exterior photos displaying the current roof condition and material.


Acceptable Proof Documents

Submit any one of the following options to verify the change:

  • Final Invoice or Certificate of Completion: Shows details of work, completion date, contractor info, and confirmation of full payment.
  • Building Permit: Notes re-roofing work, total cost, and proof of a passed final inspection. Must include a recent photo of the roof.
  • Initial Proposal: Shows work details and is explicitly marked "Paid in Full." Must include a photo of the new roof material.
  • Seller’s Disclosure: Formally states the roof age or replacement year. Must be submitted with a recent exterior roof photo.
  • Contractor Invoice: Printed or handwritten invoice on official company letterhead (including contractor name, contact details, and license number) confirming a zero balance.
