What is Mine Subsidence?

Mine Subsidence provides coverage for the main dwelling or other permanent structures on the residence premises up to the special limit indicated on the Declarations page, under specific circumstances, when the loss occurs due to ground movement caused by man-made underground mines. 

This coverage is offered as an optional endorsement that can be selected on the Coverage tab in the Portal.

The availability of this coverage varies by state and county. The coverage option is unavailable if it is not visible in the Portal.

States where Mine Subsidence coverage is available in certain counties:

  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
