What is the Standard Peril Deductible?

A standard peril deductible is the amount a homeowner must pay out of pocket before their home insurance coverage begins. This deductible is typically paid to the contractor or subtracted from the claims settlement when a covered claim is paid.

In Pennsylvania, for new business quoted after June 3, the following new minimum deductibles are in effect:

  • $2,500 on policies with an RCE less than $1M
  • $5,000 on policies with an RCE over $1M

The Coverage tab in the Portal allows you to select the deductible amount.
