What is a Third Party Designee?

The Third Party Designee section can be found on the Parties tab in the Portal and is currently state-specific to Connecticut.

This weak category only affords notification rights and does not afford any insurance coverage.

Use this category to notify persons the policyholder wants to receive notice when the policy is canceled, non-renewed, or in the pre-cancellation cycle. This would be for persons who might assist the policyholder, such as a family member, but do not have an insurable interest in the dwelling. This category is not for any person or entity requiring insurance. You can read more about other party types here

Add a designee by submitting a written request via our webform for upload or mail it to our office at:

131 Dartmouth St.

Boston, MA 02116

A signed request from the policyholder or third-party designee is required to remove a designee. Requests can also be submitted via our webform, https://help.openly.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

If an agent submits an eSigned document, the Customer Experience Team will also ask for the submission of a Certificate of Completion or an eSign history document if one is missing.

For further assistance, contact us via our webform or Live Chat.
