Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

To protect your and your clients’ sensitive data, Openly utilizes Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for all agent accounts. This security layer protects your business even if your password is ever compromised or stolen. Once you log in to your Openly account, you will see the MFA message.

Setting up Your MFA Account

After signing in to your account, you will be prompted to enter a one-time verification code. Choose the method that fits best for you:

MFA Method Device Compatibility How It Works
Authenticator App Mobile / Smartphone Options: Okta, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator

Computer / Desktop Options: 1Password, Zoho, OneAuth (supports Windows and Mac)
Generates a secure, temporary six-digit code sent to your device.
Push Notification Mobile / Smartphone Options: Auth0 Guardian App Sends a quick tap to approve the alert to your smartphone.
Text Message (SMS) Mobile / Smartphone Only Sends a six-digit code directly to your phone.
Supported in the US, Canada, India, and the Philippines.

Note: Each user must have their own login credentials. If any of your active policies are still listed under former or inactive employees, please transition them to an active Employee of Record (AOR). Learn how.

Managing Your Account

Once you’ve set up MFA, you can self-manage authentication methods within the Openly Portal. To update your settings, login to your account and click Settings to add or remove an authentication method at any time.

Verifying Your Identity

For security purposes, you will need to verify your identity every 30 days with regular activity. If you are inactive for more than one week, you may be prompted to re-verify your account sooner.

If you lose access to your MFA method, contact our Support Team.

Shared Accounts

Account sharing is discouraged because MFA must be linked directly to each individual's device. If you need to transfer any active policies listed under former or inactive employees, submit an Agent of Record (AOR) request. Learn more.
