Policy Mortgagees

A mortgagee is a lender or financial institution that holds a financial interest in an insured property. Mortgagees generally receive standard protections under a policy, which typically include:

  • Property Coverage: Protection for the main dwelling and other structures to safeguard their financial interest in the property.
  • Policy Updates: Advance notice if the policy is canceled, non-renewed, or significantly altered.
  • Claim Payments: Inclusion as a co-payee on claim settlement checks.
