Supplementary Boat Hull Coverage is an optional endorsement that can be selected on the Coverage tab in the Portal.
This endorsement is only available for HO-5 policies in certain states. If you do not see it as an option on the Coverage tab, it is not currently available in your state.
Supplementary Boat Hull Coverage provides additional physical damage coverage of up to $10,000 for boats up to 26 feet long, including their trailers, furnishings, accessories, equipment, parts, and outboard engines or motors owned by the Insured.
However, be aware that it does not cover the following:
- Watercraft over 26 feet in length
- Personal watercraft (e.g., jet skis)
- Trailers not designated or principally used to transport watercraft
- Moorings, slips, or docks
- Equipment that is not normally used to operate or maintain your watercraft
- Fishing tackle
- Property used at any time or in any manner for any "business" purpose
Openly will pay only the portion of the total losses that exceed $250. No other deductible applies to this coverage.
Personal Liability (Coverage E) and Medical Payments to Others (Coverage F) apply to liability involving a watercraft.
Coverage E and F do not apply if the watercraft is involved in the following activities during an occurrence:
- Operated in or practicing for any prearranged or organized race, speed contest, or other competition (this exclusion does not apply to a sailing vessel or predicted log cruise)
- Renting to others
- Usage to carry persons or cargo in exchange for payment
- Any business purposes
- Usage by an employee arising out of and in the course of employment by the insured if the employee's principal duties are in connection to the maintenance, operation, or use of a watercraft. The watercraft being classified either as a sailing vessel or powered by an inboard or inboard-outdrive engine / motor, including those powered by a water jet pump
